  • Book Report on Hannah by Malachi WhitakerTitle: Hannah

    Author: Malachi Whitaker

    Publisher: Cambridge University Press

    Date of Publication: 1993

Setting: Hannah's house. It takes place in England or USA, we don't know. During the twenty century, before or after, maybe during the sixties.

    Characters: Character's description:

         - Hannah: She is 17 years old. She has the brown hair. She likes to make party. She is a girl excited and she would like a boyfriend.

         - Thomas: It is a young men , who is conscientious, lumberingly polite. He likes singing.

         - Ralph: He is 19 years old. It is a strange men and he is wild.

Summary of the plot and personnal opinion:

The short story tell about a young girl. She called Hannah and she is 17 years old. The text say that she organizes a party. We learn the presence of a men who called Thomas Henri Smithson. The Hannah's mother she loves it good. But the main fact is that Hannah loves Ralph Wellings , a boy who is 19 years old. Then before the party begin, Hannah go to put on dress, and more nothing. After, in the second part of the story, we learn that Hannah is a grandmother. So what happened between this party and the moment where the text we learn that Hannah is a grandmother ? This story illustrates the love between both people: a necessary confrontation with the outside world because at the beginning of story we learn that Hannh loves Ralph and at the end we learn that Hannah married with Thomas Henri Smithson. Why Hannah was married with Thomas and not with Ralph ? So maybe that the events of the life were separated Ralph of Hannah, and same that it's probably that !
